A real pleasure
On arrival we were greeted at the door and directed to reception, where we found the staff to be friendly and cheerful. Although initially disappointed at the size of the room and having to rehang a curtain we could not fault the rest of the hotel and how big does a bedroom really need to be. They staff were very accommodating and opened the restaurant early so we could eat before our evening concert and the food was absolutely delicious. The bar staff were amazing. Unfortunately we didn’t get the name of the gentleman working in the bar but he was attentive but very discreet and was happy to help in any way he could. He and the waiter in the evening made our stay an exceptionally pleasant one and when in London again, we will certainly come back to the Strathmore and hope they are on duty.

Overnight stay
Just an overnight stay for us so we could visit the Albert Hall. Booked for location to the hall as my partner currently can’t walk far. Got exactly what I expected from the reviews but we were quite happy there for the night. We were in the basement so although there was no view (didn’t matter for our short stay) made it very quiet without any disturbances. I actually had a great night’s sleep. The staff were lovely and friendly and all spoke and made conversation. The room was as expected with the older type furniture (dark wood). Quite a good size and the bathroom was clean and tidy. Breakfast was a small range of continental- they bring toast out for you if you want it. Food was very nice just not a huge range but plenty to make sure you’re not hungry so not an issue for us. The only negative was they forgot to leave milk for the kettle - very small negative but didn’t impact on the stay. Just around the corner five mins are some shops, takeaways and Starbucks. Gloucester Road underground is five minutes away. We enjoyed the stay and would use it again for short stays. It’s a ten minute walk to the Albert Hall so ideal if you were visiting there.

The weekend break
This is our second visit to the hotel and was perfect for the activity we had set up for our time in London this hotel is perfect and never disappoints on our first visit we took our 10 year old granddaughter and the room was perfect for the three of us she now names it as our hotel and was sad she couldn’t come this time. We will hopefully be back again this year.

Lovely Staff
Perfect location near Gloucester Rd tube. Spotless room. Fresh continental breakfast with plenty of choice. Only reason for 4* was the double bedroom was a bit small. The staff were fabulous.
