Once again, a night at The Strathmore
A lovely, value for money hotel in a great part of London with very lose access to the underground. The hotel is scrupulously clean, with nice towels and bedding, if I could change one thing it would be the pillows which are a bit hard to what I’m used to. The staff are exceptionally friendly and the breakfast is great.

Friendly staff, excellent location
We had a comfortable stay at the Strathmore. The only criticism we have is that the bed and the pillows were too hard! That being said, the room was comfortable if small and it was a pleasure to be able to open a window. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the food was good and the location was perfect for our needs.

Lovely breakfast!
We stayed for two nights with a 9 and 10 year old in a quad room. The check in took quite a while but was OK. We then took the very small lift to the 4th floor but the button didn't work so we got out at the third and walked up. (It seemed stuck and never worked for the duration of our stay) In our room there was no milk for our teas and coffee which we rang down to reception and some was brought up. There was only decaffeinated coffee though and no hot chocolate for the kids and only three cups and one spoon for all four of us. The room was nice and suited our needs and was cleaned and replenished daily for us. There was bottled water but no biscuits which we thought for a 4 star hotel there might have been. The breakfast was lovely so much choice and the staff so helpful and friendly. We were impressed with how quiet it was on a night, no doors banging or loud walking from surrounding areas in the hotel which is just what we needed after busy day. I would stay here again and I'm sure that if we had asked for coffee/more cups/ hot chocolate it would have been provided but it would have been nice if it had been readily available. The shower was lovely and clean perfect for what we needed. Close to the tube stations and museums was huge plus for us and one of the reasons why we booked this hotel. Lots of places to eat nearby and and a cosy room to go back to after a day of exploring London. Just a few tweaks and it would have been a 5 out of 5 for everything.

Fantastic location,quiet and convenient . Small dated room with a bathroom the size of a cloakroom..but the staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is great..Had a very pleasant stay..

Fantastic deal as booked last minute for an event at the Royal Albert Hall. Literally 5 mins walk from the venue, with a great selection of shops and pubs 5 mins the other way (also where Gloucester Road tube station is) the hotel was perfectly situated for our needs. Whilst we didn't make use of the food arrangements, we could see a busy breakfast time restaurant which is always a promising sign and every member of staff we encountered were polite, courteous and accommodating. A beautiful old hotel, with updated bedrooms, boasting modern en suite facilities and extremely comfortable beds, whilst not compromising many of the original featires of the building. My only suggestion would be air conditioning, or at the very least a fan in the room, as whilst the hotel is not situated on a particularly busy road, sleeping with the window open in London proved a little noisy at times. All in all though, a fantastic visit and we will certainly book again for future events.
